Parenting Information

When thinking about options for your unplanned pregnancy, parenting may seem like the most intimidating one. It not only involves nine months of pregnancy but also the responsibility of caring for the baby after he or she is born.

We’re here to offer support and guidance as you consider whether or not parenting is the right choice for you. If you choose to parent, Robbinsdale Women’s Center can provide you with information and resources as you start your journey.

Am I ready to be a parent?

Choosing to become a parent is a big decision because it’s a commitment that lasts a lifetime. While parenting isn’t easy, it can be a source of happiness in many people’s lives. Raising a child is much easier with support, which is exactly what you will receive at Robbinsdale Women’s Center.

Will I have to parent alone?

It’s important to think through your existing support systems as you evaluate this option. Does your partner want to be involved? Can your parents help? Will you have childcare? Taking inventory of what support you already have will help inform how much extra support you may need once the baby arrives.

Do I have the resources to parent?

You might be concerned about how you could afford the expense of parenting. There are both local and national organizations and programs that offer resources to help offset the costs of caring for a new baby. We are here to provide information on the resources available to you in our community should you choose to parent.
