If you think you may be pregnant, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the unknown and even anxious. We are here to help you. Here at Crystal Women’s Clinic, we offer free and confidential pregnancy testing to women facing unplanned pregnancies.

While home pregnancy tests have improved greatly over the years, many factors can impact the accuracy of your results. We offer lab-quality pregnancy testing administered by our licensed medical staff.

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?

The best time to take a pregnancy test is on the day of your expected period. Waiting this time gives the Human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG hormone time to build and be detected by home pregnancy tests. If you test too early, you risk receiving a false negative.

How Does A Pregnancy Test Work?

There are two types of pregnancy tests, urine and blood. Both types look for hCG, a hormone only made during pregnancy. If this hormone is detected, the test will be positive; if no hCG is detected, the result will be negative. We provide free, lab-quality, urine pregnancy testing.

A pregnancy test determines whether you are pregnant by detecting the presence of hCG, the hormone associated with pregnancy.

You will give a urine sample during your appointment, and then one of our nurses will administer the test. Testing only takes a few minutes, and you will have your result during your appointment.

What Are My Next Steps?

After a positive pregnancy test, we will administer a limited ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy. The ultrasound will also determine how far along the pregnancy is and whether it is a viable, living pregnancy.

An ultrasound is essential as it confirms an intrauterine pregnancy to help rule out possible complications such as an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage.
